The Current Chord
The fundamental unit in FretPet is the chord, and at all times you are primarily working with the Current Chord. Even when no document is open there is always a Current Chord that you can edit and play. Most visual elements in the FretPet interface reveal some aspect of this Current Chord.

Every chord in the document has an embedded variable-length interactive sequencer.
